Early Intervention / Medical Management Services
Our Nurse Case Managers will act quickly to return the injured workers to his/her regular position. The cost-efficient process entails an in-depth evaluation that consists of an extensive medical history review, client interview, physician contact and employment. The Nurse Case Manager will coordinate and monitor the recovery progress and treatment goals. Should the client attain maximum medical improvement and be unable to return to his regular duty position, he can be rapidly enrolled in a vocational assessment and rehabilitation program.
Vocational Assessment
The aim of vocational assessment is to provide specific information about a client's aptitudes, skills and intellect to determine future employment opportunities. The evaluation consists of series of specialized psychometric and vocational tests, a clinical interview, transferable skills analysis, behavioral observations, and a cogent summary of the injured worker's vocational and educational history, physical capabilities , and vocational interests.
Job Development and Placement Services
If vocational rehabilitation services are requested, our Rehabilitation Specialists can develop a personalized vocational rehabilitation plan based on the evaluation. The client will be instructed in job readiness training, and will begin to work with the Rehabilitation Specialist on a cost effective job search. Our Rehabilitation Specialists have a proven track record in providing clients with realistic and desirable positions.
Labor Market Survey
In those cases where a job search may not be feasible and there is a need to identify suitable alternative employment, our Rehabilitation Specialists can prepare a Labor Market Survey. This survey includes individualized vocational testing, a review of the injured worker's limitations, and a transferable skills analysis. These components are synthesized by the Rehabilitation Specialist to identify appropriate positions, and a survey of current openings is conducted detailing wage rates, necessary skills and physical requirements.
Expert Testimony
A case may frequently be scheduled for a hearing to resolve disagreement regarding retraining, employability, wage loss differentials, and the current labor market. Our Rehabilitation Specialists have extensive experience in limited assignment evaluations and are available for testimony in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
Desensitization Therapy
Our Rehabilitation Specialists have extensive experience in providing desensitization therapy to those workers suffering from a psychological trauma (such as post traumatic stress disorder) incurred on the job. One of our specialists is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and can provide on-site therapy in order to assist the worker to a speedy return work.
